About Us

Cafe Brio

is a bakery and cafe on the Arcata Plaza.  We make all our baked goods on the premises and focus on creative interpretations of classic pastries & cakes.

All of our ingredients are chosen with the greatest care to be the best available. Our produce is predominantly local, depending on seasonal availability, and always organic.

Simple food excellently prepared heightens our enjoyment of the meal, the company and our surroundings. An understanding of where our food comes from teaches us that how we eat affects the world we live in. We believe our approach brings you food that is both delicious and authentic, with respect for the large ecosystem that is our earth, as well as the smaller ecosystem that is your body.

We feature Cypress Grove Chevre,  serve only Niman Ranch Bacon and Hams, and our pastries are made with 100% pure organic butter from Straus Family Creamery in Point Reyes.  All of our coffee is organic, from Flying Goat Coffee Co. in Healdsburg, and all milk in our coffee drinks is organic.. All of our chicken is from Pitman Family Farm in Sanger, California. Our beef is from Humboldt COunty Grass Fed or Niman ranch,  lamb is exclusively Humboldt County grass raised.

Our suppliers include: GREEN FIRE FARMS, ORGANIC MATTERS RANCH, LITTLE RIVER FARM, CLAUDIA'S HERBS, WARREN CREEK FARM, WILLOW CREEK FARM, NEUKOM FAMILY FARM, and many other local farms, as well as NIMAN RANCH, HUMBOLDT CREAMERY, STRAUS FAMILY CREAMERY, CYPRESS GROVE CHEVRE, and many more local and responsible suppliers..
